Power washers

Could someone recommend a good strong power washer?
It is mainly to clean paving.
The one I have at the moment takes ages to clean one paving stone. It is like cleaning it with a pencil.
Can you get wider spray heads or does that reduce the power.

If the one you have is a Karcher and this is suitable, I would recommend one of these:

I used one a few weeks ago to clean a lot of pavers and it did a very good job.
You might have to shop about a bit as B&Q don't appear to have any in stock but I just used their advert to show what the lance was like.0 -
Karcher are a good make, but before you buy another power washer, be sure it's not just a case of using your current power washer incorrectly. Some nozzles work a lot better than others, for example.(Nearly) dunroving0

Yep, that's the attachment I use with my Karcher, came as one of the spares/attachments.(Nearly) dunroving0 -
I use the T-racer with my ancient Karcher, it works fine.

Whilst I used to rate Karcher, I bought a Nilfisk on which? recommendation and haven't look back. Far more powerful and cuts jobs time right down.0

Thanks everyone. Haven't got a Karcher but that's what I was thinking of getting.
Some good suggestions here so I think I will have to do some reading up first.0 -
The petrol engine washers are more powerful than usual domestic electric ones and have the advantage that you can use them anywhere. Aldi or Lidl sell them a couple of times a year.0

As above, Nilfisk washers are better machines than Karcher equivalents.
If you can spend 200+ you'll enjoy cleaning things so much more!0 -
I bought a ‘top of the range’ karcher 14 years ago and although the newer ones are a lot more powerful mine is still going strong - a wheel is falling off but it is otherwise working well - if it stopped working tomorrow I would not hesitate to buy the most powerful karcher available on the market.0
