While the deadline is certainly a factor, I think it's largely the number of Plevin complaints which has caused the increase to be so steep at this time.

It will, however, be interesting to see what the statistics are like once we enter the final twelve months of PPI complaints. I expect Claim Companies will go into overdrive in an attempt to squeeze as much as possible from their financial "cherry".

I'm sure there'll also be more of the rather ludicrous "Arnuld" adverts from the FCA.
