Converting summer house

Hi guys,

I have a what I think you call a summer house in the garden. It looks nice from the outside but inside is a little dingy. What I was thinking of doing is tearing the whole thing down and replacing it with another building which is not exposed to the elements; a mini man cave for me ideally.

Thinking that would cost quite a bit, I was wondering if there was anything wrong with me converting it to an indoor place by boarding up the roof and walls.

I have no clue about DIY and probably will hire someone to do it. Just wondering if anyone here thought boarding it up would be a good idea, whether I need any sort of planning permission etc. (I own the property or just any advice on a best course of action. Pictures are below and any questions, please do let me know!

The link below confirms the circumstances under which you would need planning permission for a 'shed'. (In the UK, mini man caves are called Sheds! )

Converting an existing structure to a 'shed', will cost less than a new shed, so it would be worth getting a quote from a handyman or joiner for the work.
