Nursery fees - use as credit commitment for amount can borrow

Hi,

Trying to find out a rough idea how much we can lend. Do I put my nursery costs I pay each month into the box where is says credit commitments? I cant see anywhere else for it to go. If I say nothing when we get a decision in principle it will be less. I need to get a good idea from the banks calculator.

thanks

As much as you want. Borrowing is a different matter though.

Nursery costs would go down as an outgoing. Like any other commitments, it can impact affordability.

Usually there's a box for other monthly commitments.

Just be careful with this comment. It is not necessarily wrong, but there are caveats that come with that statement.

Nor does it care that you've got to pay it when it wants its money every month - or repossesses your house 'cos you thought it more important to pay the nanny than the mortgage.

Even though they may not be mentioned specifically;-

    credit card balances
    HP payments
    loan payments
    maintenance payments
    childcare
    school fees
    student loan payments
    ground rent & service charges
    3% of HTB equity loan
    employer season ticket loan payments

will all be factored into affordability by most lenders.
