Turned down for mortgage - what to do

Options
Before trying for a mortgage with HSBC I got my credit rating from Experian and everything looked good (my credit rating was 99). However, I've now been turned down for the application and advised to contact the credit agency they used which was Core Credit.

I've checked this, and as far as I can see this is just the business end of Experian and so I'm a little confused as to what I can do next, as my original credit information came from Experian and as far as I could see, this was fine.

The only thing HSBC would tell me is that it was an issue at a previous address. I have a good job, a current mortgage and plenty of savings, and if any issue occurred at a previous address, I'm not aware of it.

Does anyone know of what I can do next to resolve this situation?

You credit score is made up. Ignore.
They would have said Call Credit. This is a separate CRA. Nothing to do with Experian.
Check your files with all three CRAs. Not the scores, but the data.
    Engage a broker.
