1899 charges

Good morning to you all.

I have noticed with interest that although weekend mobile rates using the 1899 access code are 3p per minute plus 3p connection charge, for cable customers the tariff is only 2p per minute plus 3p connection charge.

Being a BT customer, is there anything stopping me from using the 0808 number at weekends to benefit from the cheaper tariff?

I noticed that yesterday. Weird - I thought using them via BT was cheaper for them than via their 0808 number as it costs them money to receive calls on their 0808.

I suspect that maybe its a misprint or something so it may be worthwhile emailing them for clarification (if they respond).

No, if you're using the orchid dialler just set it up to use the 0808 number at weekend on calls to 07xxx numbers, or alternatively, just dial it yourself before dialling your required mobile number.

Does this still work if you have a BT business line?

I need to call Dubai for work, and whilst BT say they discount International calls for business customers (to 80p/min) the 1899 service is 12p/min!

If I can still access this service on a business service, then my business could save thousands!

I'm sure someone will let me know.

Call1899 won't stop you from using it from a business line as both Call18866/1899 can be used by businesses as well.

I've been using 1899's 0808 number from a BT line since the 1899 access number was increased to 3p/min for calls to mobiles at the weekend.

Until today when the price on the 0808 number has increased to 3p/min too. I will now use 18866 for weekend mobile calls.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
