Just Got A Parking Charge Notice From UKPS- Very Angry !!!

Hey Guys,

Just received a fine from a company called UKPS, for parking near some shops, whereby apparently ' a permit was required'. I had no idea !!!!!

I'm outraged because

a) I didn't see the sign

b) Because i'm a regular law abiding citizen, i'm quite paranoid about these things. Hence every couple of minutes i kept walking past the car to see if i had any ticket on the dash. At no point, was a ticket posted on my dash.

c) 10 days later after the incident date I've received a letter. No warning what-so-ever

I'm angry because i didn't see the sign, yet on this letter there is a photo of the back of the car parked. There is also a photo of the sign. The photo of the sign is very blurry though so it's hard to distinguish what it says.

What do i do now?

P.S- I've looked at all the forums to find an answer - but am still unsure what my next moves should be. Should i just ignore?

Thanks in advance, for the wonderful job you guys are doing by the way. You guys are heroes!

You are angry because you didn't see the signs. Well you stand a good chance of making the regulars who can help you equally angry if you don't read the NEWBIES thread at the top of this forum.

    Read it first.

    Calm down.

    Come back with targeted questions.
  • I have read it, but i still don't know what my next steps should be.

Once again, i apologize if these questions have been done to death, but i 've read the newbies forum and am still not sure what to do.

    I appreciate any help.

The next step is to cut and paste the appeal template and send it off.

    Which UKPS?

There's at least three with very similar names. Two are members of the IPC AOS and one a member of the BPA AOS. There will be different appeal strategies depending on which one.

IPC AOS - UKPS (North West) Ltd, or UKPS Limited

BPA AOS - T R Luckins Limited T/A UK Parking Solutions

UKPS limited, Leamington Spa, Wawickshire. Their website is theukps . com

So an IPC AOS Operator - initial appeal using the ready written template in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1, no further appeal to the discredited IAS, just wait to see if UKPS issue court proceedings. We can help with those if they come your way.

Have you complained to the landowner and ask them to intervene and get the ticket cancelled, it can often pay dividends?

No I haven't spoke to the landowner. I'm from out of town, so doubt i'll have time to speak to them, but might try it.

Thanks for your help, i will keep you guys posted should anything come.

Permit required? Are they doing the victim for trespassing?

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

NEWBIES thread tells you, even gives you a template to stop you blabbing about the driver!

You do realise you won't get it cancelled otherwise, and may end up defending a claim? We do help people win 99% of the time but nip it in the bud if you can by a serious complaint to the landowner (email or by phone is good, remember this is NOT an 'appeal' it is a complaint, so no ''is there anything you can do?'' nor ''what should I do?'' because the landowner will tell you to appeal.

Do appeal (WITHOUT SAYING WHO WAS DRIVING) but it doesn't work.

And we are not saying to pay so none of that question please...
