Adopted a cat - didn’t realise food was so complicated!

I've had cats that devoured felix live to their 20's and others that ate "posh" go early. Similarly at the moment I've got one elderly rescue cat that will only eat dry biscuits which I absolutely hate feeding him but he's dying and that is the only thing he will eat so dry biscuits it is.
My other young male cat is fed a grain free wet food diet as much as possible which he's happy to devour. Funnily enough he turns his nose up at 35 day dry aged filet steak when offered but will chow down happily on a tin of something randomly stinky from Zooplus!
If nothing else please try not to feed them dry food, especially as a male cat. Anything wet is preferable including the supermarkets own brands but I think someone else mentioned Zooplus as well? Try them, they often do good offers and bulk buys.
If I had a choice to start a kitten off I'd go raw which we're considering changing the young cat over to, but I understand this can be an expensive exercise. It's just something we're looking into but in any event he's staying wet wet wet (food!)0 -
My boy is on a mix of wet and dry and he's very happy with it so far. He gets Catz FineFood from Zooplus - currently venison which he's really enjoying - and Applaws dry food which is 80% meat, so not bad (though Thrive dry food is 90% I think). He very much prefers his wet food but the dry is useful for the 3am wake-up call!0
