I dont know what sort of house or flat you've got, what sort of heating or hot water system or even your lifestyle so it's not all that easy to guess what your consumption might be.
However, if you've got gas central heating and hot water then a reasonable estimate is around 13,000kwh a year for gas and 3500kwh a year for leccy.

Bear in mind though that at this time of year you wont be using a lot of gas, that happens during the winter so don't underestimate your consumption based on what you'll be using between now and October otherwise you'll get a very nasty shock when the bill comes in next March or April. You need to have a healthy surplus in your account by October (at least two months worth of DD) to go into winter.

95% of the problems people have is because they don't keep an eye on their meter readings and bills or statements and then find out they've been underpaying so 5 minutes once a month, checking your meter readings, sending them to your supplier and examining your on-line statements to ensure that they are correct will pay dividends and save you a lot of grief in the future
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers
