New house, what supplier to use?

Just moved into our new home. Always search out the best deals but we have moved from a 2 bed end terrace to 4 bed detached. Want to change to an economical deal ASAP but just wondering should I just gauge it on our old usage from the 2 bed even though the house is considerably bigger and likely use more gas and electric? Many thanks.

From a 2-bed to a 4-bed - how much your consumption increases depends on how well insulated the new property is for a start.

Try using your old figures from the 2-bed and increase them by 50% and don't forget to compare dual fuel deals and separate suppliers for electricity and gas.

You are aware that you are in a deemed contract with the existing supplier?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Since there is not your personal history to use to calculate the likely consumption over the next year the energy supplier is likely to use the Ofgem Typical Consumption Values adjusted for the number of bedrooms and possibly number of occupants:
    https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/gas/retail-market/monitoring-data-and-statistics/typical-domestic-consumption-values

This will most likely be used when you get a quote from one or more energy suppliers.
