Auxillis / Non fault accident

Hi All

Am sure this Q has been asked numerous of times.. but thought I would through it out there again.

Basically.. I got in in the rear by a car last week.. phoned my insurance who have put me onto Auxillis, they have provided me with a car and arranged collection of my car to a local garage for assessment.

Third party admitted liabillity and now their insurers keep calling me and writing to me suggesting I use them for the works and car.

Have any of you ever been lumbered with a big bill when taking a hire car through Auxillis? I really don't know what to do.. They are telling me they 'battle it out' with insurance companies when the third party objects the costs initially but always end up negotiating it...

advise please? thanks :j

Auxillis will likely bill the 3rd party more than you expect and the 3rd party will try to avoid paying.

You can always tell them it's with a management company and if they agree to cover it you'll return that hire car upon delivery of theirs.

Dump auxillis and take up the third party offer.

From my experiences the management companies are nothing more than bottom feeders of the insurance world.

If you can cancel and consider going direct to the third party insurer who will bend over backwards to help especially if you tell them admiral want you to use auxillis!

You will get a replacement car off the insurer and should have no problem using the repairer of your choice

In my experience avoid Auxillis. Nice hire car, but terrible service & tried it on with damage charges even though I didn't damage the vehicle. Drop off guy marked form very vaguely with alloy wheel dings, pick up guy forensically marked the form. They then tried to charge me for all the damage even though I knew I hadn't kerbed the car. They only backed down when I told them to take me to court where I would demand evidence of previous charges made to other customers regarding the wheels. They caused more trauma than the guy who accidentally drove into me, & were basically trying to commit fraud.

Who will end of paying ?? All of us, inflated repair costs inflated admin costs inflated hire costs.

To be honest I have always found dealing with third parties to be far better and got far better results with the overall costs being far less for everyone.

Auxillis are an accident management company and its all done on a credit agreement. They are more expensive than if you paid your excess and went through your own insurance at the start - but thats at your cost and in a non-fault accident who wants to front the cash (even though you do get it back).

The third party are calling you as they know Auxillis are expensive and would prefer it if you dealt with them directly.

Now you can argue that they don't have your best interests at heart as they want to keep their costs down... but on the flip side is you can argue Auxillis only seem so eager to help you as they see you as big pay day.

As long as you tell them truth, don't take the hire car for longer than needed and help in every way possible, then no costs should fall to you. You should be protected by an insurance policy they give you free. They are right when they say they 'battle it out' and settle the costs.

Lets face it, they all use this company, they all have their hands in each others pockets and they are generally all owed by a few big companies! So they dont loose out, just us as our premiums go up!

BTW I used them when they were Albany Assist, no problems. Im using them now and they have been straight forward and no problem again.
