Got an e-mail from Virgin last night stating that for today only (24th Oct) balance transfers are free. Assume it's for exisiting card holders (as I am one) and offer ends at midnight tonight, saving usual 2.98% fee. Probably targetted too, but might be worth a phone call. Hope this helps someone.

just done mine after waiting for this for a while.
i increased my limit a few months ago in preparation for the day when an offer like this would be made.
dont forget, that virgin do super balance transfers into a current account as well.
just transfered £23k for stoozing at 4.9% with no fees into my current account.0 -
This is the reason I keep the account open because of their promotions.
I often think the posters who start slagging off the likes of MBNA and telling them basically to stuff their account is very short sighted.0 -
I have an offer for 0% balance transfer until July 08.Will I be able to use the no bt fee with this.Thanks.0

not sure, as it could be classed as two seperate offers.
best thing is if you have been given the offer (BTW- the e-mail had a code to quote -BT1007) then give them a ring and question everything before going ahead.
i did, because i had the 4.9% offer in the account already till july 08, though i wasnt using it. I confirmed the BT would be at that interest rate and fees free.
note - take the persons name u speak to and jot down everything as they answer your queries so your 100% sure later if needed.0 -
Thanks,I rang and they gave me the 0% till July 08 and the free balance transfer.0
