I get those emails too... telling me I'm pre-approved despite them knowing I don't meet their criteria ;)

I didn't know there was anything particularly onerous about their criteria apart from a good credit history. However when I log in to online banking I am always greeted with an offer to open a second one, when I've filled up the current one I might just do it for another easy DD. I always used to poo poo these things as only useful to people on a tight budget but I've had a bit of an about face recently if you can be certain that you can pay them off after the introductory period. The money they've 'loaned' me might as well be earning interest in one of their savings accounts. Sure beats paying to 'borrow' ;)

I get caught on minimum income, which cannot include income from investments and savings. When you deduct that from my total income then on paper I'm poor as a church mouse... even though I have a five figure sum saved with them at the moment.

Apparently income from benefits (or employment) is more secure than income from savings :rotfl:
