I would definitely contact Nintendo directly. Their customer services are fab and they repair or replace the DS very quickly, much to my sons delight when his became faulty out of the warranty period!0

It makes no difference how long VMS keep their receipts for, if you can show some sort of proof of purchase - such as your statement - then that is enough. Just take the statement with you to show the manager, if they refuse just let them know you will start small claims court action, easy to do online, if they see you are serious I am sure they will sort it out, if not then go through with it and start the action.0

Companys have to keep a record of receipts for 2 years or it may be longer so Virgin are talking bull.0
