dvla change of address online how long lived at present address
so I didn't do enough research to find out how to change address by post where it doesn't ask you how long you've lived at your current address and stupidly did it online.
will I get fined now automatically for putting having lived at current address for 7 months before updating?
I literally don't have £1000 to pay the fine.

I've never heard of anyone being prosecuted for that. I think it's very unlikely.
Anyway, the £1,000 is the maximum. Any fine would be much income-related.0 -

anyway when i googled it seemed to suggest only the police pulling you over would instigate a prosecution. but I haven't managed to search anything to see if fines are automatically generated by the DVLA if when changing address online to say you've been at current residence for anything more than 0 months. It basically asking you to incriminate yourself. Which is why I should have done more research I guess before I decided to finally change my address over.0 -
You've done it now. I wouldn't worry about it.
A more pressing concern is, do you know if any post (tickets for example) could have been sent to the old address before you updated it?3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). right, I'm a mature student for the year, so not really any income.

It's not going to happen. For a more expert opinion, post on pepipoo.com, but I'd be surprised if anyone on there has ever heard of a prosecution unless there was some massively aggravating circumstances.
If you should ever find yourself being fined for something else, the courts use a minimum income (£120?) when calculating fines.0 -

My licence was registered at my mothers address for about 20-25 years after I left home. Don't sweat it.0
