Dear all... after some discussion (and tre3mor's original suggestion) I've posted a poll regarding dividing this thread into three. I'd really appreciate anyone who has an opinion on this going and having a look and voting. This is the link:

PS apologies for x-post but I wasn't sure which thread to put this on so covered all bases!

I think it would be better to let the new system of keeping the infinite circle of HPC threads into one to settle in first.
If this doesn't work, then would be the time to suggest a change.
Once the usual moaning brigade get used to it, it will be a happier place.
On the original HPC thread, there were one or two who picked up their ball and went home saying that they'd not return... They're still here.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

It's already not working
I understand it's not working at the moment. The reason it's not working is because people are being childish and deliberately sabotaging the new system.
I guess the board guides will give them a while to "tire themselves out" and then they will be asked to comply or "go to the corner".
Personally, I think that the main board is much healthier than it was a few weeks ago.
I stopped visiting this board because of all the repetitive HPC talk spreading from one thread to another.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
Once the mods take it seriously and start banning those that abuse the system, there shoul be no reason for any sub-divisopns.
If posters want to wail about how high prices are, and how unfair it is, now there is a dedicated thread for you.
Please use it and leave the rest of us, in peace, to sensibly discuss housing issues0 -

So where should house price increase posts go - the ones that ramp up the market and are the opposite of house price crash threads? Should they also have their own fixed thread?
Bit thick, innit, suggesting banning 'those' who 'abuse the system' (whatever that means)? :cool:0 -

Could you find one of those that isn't posted by a troll or someone trying to prove the same point as you.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

There is a big risk that if you divide it up people will miss out on informtion.
Volume of posts isnt so high as to make it unmanageable.Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0 -
wow get a life!
is this the most uptight forum on the web or what? lol
you guys take yourselves so seriously, if someone p*sses you off, ignore them or join in with the banter.
i don't think i hardly have ever seen a thread/post of people "ramping" up the market saying prices always go up.
yet i see plenty where people say, "completion in 10 weeks time, what do i need to plan for?" (kind of threads) then the HPC come on board and say something like "well by the time you complete it'll be worth 30% less" lol
i don't even look at the sticky and that's all good.
don't think it'll get split to be honest as it'll mean more modding (not much but most forums use this as a "reason" not to split into sub-forums) and also in their defence, they'll probably say that there's more specialised forums out there for that type of debate (ie HPC, etc)
quite like the idea of seperate "everything to do with renting" & "everything to do with owning" boards though.
it may also be an idea to create/update some good FAQs as well that seem to get asked alot (I'm guilty of this too) or links to decent organisations, ie landlordzone, etc etc.0
