Now I'm not down on UK holidays. But is this not one of the most expensive and unfriendly places to go on holiday. I feel like I'm a cash fish in the Blackpool barrel when I go there. What about you.
"They report having to pay £120 for a basic hotel room, in towns where a single ice cream can cost £3. Blackpool emerged as the worst place for a family holiday, with Hastings and Bognor faring little better."

I go to blackpool maybe once or twice a year but only for the day. I wouldn't dream of using it as a holiday resort for more than that.
I was there about 3 weeks ago and spent all day from 11am till 9pm in the Pleasure Beach.
Cost about £9 to park on the sea front all day, pretty pricey but I was parked directly outside one of the entrances to the pleasure beach.
The fish and chips a lunchtime was just over £5 but it was massive, compare it against a local chippy in Leeds size for size it was more expensive but about the same as a murgatroyds take out fish and chips.
After the pleasure beach there isn't a massive amount to do, Sandcastle ok for 1/2 day, never been to the Zoo but Chester is similar distance for me. Beach was deserted so there were helicopter rides though.
If you start to stay overnight or for a few days going abroad appeals a lot more, especially if you can get to the airport easily.
A return taxi to the airport for me is £20, the flight is sometimes cheaper for the next leg.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
& Choo Choo for trains!!0
