Long shot - parking ticket for car park
Hi all
Very long shot probably!
I got a parking ticket for parking in a car park recently. While I wasn’t parked in a designated bay, I parked by a curb where there were no yellow lines. At the ends of the car park spaces there are yellow hatched areas indicating no parking.
It was outside a football ground on match day and many other cars were parked similar to me so presumably all got tickets. The local council must have made a fortune.
Anyway I’m sure it is enforceable but wanted peoples opinion on the no markings to suggest you couldn’t park there. If it were a normal highway you’d expect double yellows to say no parking.

I've just started entering the competitions (July 07). When I win I'll update this signature. Look on the bright side, I shouldn't have to update it very often.

If this is a proper council parking ticket you need to take this to pepipoo for best advice
If it's a private parking company then go to the parking sub forum here.
See the FAQ thread there for advice on how to deal with private parking invoices0 -
You would shorten your odds considerably by posting in an appropriate forum. Posting on parking issues here is quite futile.0

In Scotland, you get fined if not parked in a designated space (being over the line too). I'm starting to see that more often in England as well.0

If only there was a dedicated parking tickets board. I bet such a board would make this "long shot" into a short shot.0

Good point waamo and they could probably have some tips and pointers called Newbies.
OP when you next log on ask a board guide, crabman, saavy or soolin by PM to move your post to the Parking Tickets, Fines and Parking sub-forum rather than starting a new thread. That way posters won't be running two threads and getting confused.0 -
