Paying flight with Credit card

Hi,

My understanding is no companies can charge transaction fee/surcharge on personal credit cards anymore.

Just been looking through flights and came across:-

https://www.getaflight.co.uk/customer-support/

It states:-

The balance on your booking is due 8 weeks prior to departure (unless stated otherwise). It can be paid in a number of ways: Phone - All payments can be made over the phone and your Personal Travel Consultant will be happy to help you. Please note that payments made by credit card will incur a 2% surcharge, Amex will incur a 3% surcharge and debit cards incur no surcharge. Cheque - Please make all cheques payable to Citiamex Ltd, and post to the address stated on your invoice. If sending a cheque, please post early enough to allow time for the amount to clear. Bank Transfer - Please ask your consultant for our account details if you wish to complete an online bank transfer. Voliamo requires payment to be made in full if travelling within 8 weeks. As long as the full balance is paid by the due date, payments in instalments may be made. Voliamo will not automatically take payments using any card details provided and require verbal authorisation directly from the cardholder before a payment is taken. The balance due date will appear on every confirmation and invoice you receive, please note that we do not send any additional payment reminders.

Are they breaking the law?

Yes, if they're actually charging the fees. It's possible that the info on the website simply hasn't been updated to reflect the change in legislation.

As dj1471 points out, likely they have not updated their website.

If you go through the booking flow on their site you will see Debit/Credit Card Fee as £0.00.

Any particular reason why you would wish to book via them rather than book direct with the airline?
