can anyone enlighten me whether the 3 days or so for money to be cleared into your bank accounts is going to change in the near future,e.g. a refund of a mail order catalogue,or a online bookie returns.why cant they credit you instantly,seeing as they take your money straight away,cheers

Yes, but they don't get your money straight away, do they. It generally takes 2/3 days. Faster payments will expedite most BACS payments, but the 'faster' bit will still work both ways.
