Casual spending bank account

Options
Hi all

Can any of you recommend a bank account that may be best for casual spending (no mortgage payments, household debits, salary payments, etc.)?
I find my main bank account gets flooded with all these small contactless payments and ebay/amazon type little purchases. This makes it a pain when I want to analyse my main account. What I would like to do is set up another account that I basically use as my "cash". I will just pay in what I usually spend in a month on contactless, etc. and use that. That way my main account stays relatively simple and also reduces that which can be taken from me should my card get lost/stolen as there won't be any credit/overdraft.
So, the question is, are there any accounts that give rewards or make that type of thing more simple? I know I could just open any debit account anywhere but I don't mind where this is and if I can benefit from it, great.

Thanks
Alan

TSB classic plus gives interest and cashback of up to £5 per month until December. I use mine for those small spends.

If you have/use a smartphone then can't recommend Starling Bank highly enough...

    Thanks for the replies.
I've got a joint account with my wife with TSB already. Shouldn't be any issues me opening a personal account as well.
I wish I could use a smartphone. I've rooted my phone so android pay won't work due to security risk. Ironically, I rooted so I could add additional security.

I very rarely have casual spends. I also have a few accounts. My Tesco account gives interest on up to £3000. I keep an extra £50 in there and use it for the odd coffee and cookie.

OP Coop do cashback https://www.co-operativebank.co.uk/currentaccounts/currentaccount (expand the everyday rewards section) You have to pay in £800 a month. So you may have to pay the difference between your monthly spends and the £800 each month to meet the cashback criteria.

    Also there is Barclays: https://www.barclays.co.uk/current-accounts/blue-rewards/
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

I wouldn't have close to that. Probably a couple hundred.

I have a Tesco account for the exact same purpose. Very easy to transfer money to it from my Nationwide account and I can put cash in at my local Tesco Extra customer services desk (up to 8pm).
Clubcard points when I spend on it too!

Rowing back on this a little now given their recent problems getting into the account. Maybe wait until they have finished sorting problems if you are going to open a TSB account!

Monzo works on rooted phones (but not Android Pay so you would have to use their contact less card as usual).

I use Monzo for exactly the reason you want to. The app lists each transaction and also attempts to organise your spending into catagories. Transactions appear on your phone in about a second.
