Bush 14in TV DVD/VCR combi

Can anyone suggest why this tv will no longer play dvds it says incorrect disc on all dvds yet it will still play cds . Can't find the manual and on set-up has nothing to change disc type ie region 1/2. I have cleaned the discs and used a clean up disc for the lser but nothing. Any ideas. Thanks

We'll try an old favourite "IT crowd" saying here,
"Have you tried switching it off and switching it back on again" using the mains socket switch?

try leaving it off for about 1/2 an hour, before turning it back on

Will give it a go, Hasn't worked for a while (husband only told me a few weeks ago). It should have been unplugged while we were on holidays in August but I don't know when it stopped working, I never have time to watch DVDs in bed, would rather spend the time sleeping!!

Have the DVDs you are trying been played in this machine before or are you trying to play them for the first time?

Assume it won't play rental or shop bought DVDs? Try putting a DVD cleaner disk in it, available for a few quid.
