    HELP please

1st time nearly to be father.. I read with interest the posts on this topic and trudged off to Boots...

OH MY GOD! there are soooo many different nappies and deals that I just spent 30minutes starring at them all, then coming out with nothing but a massive headache!!!

I realise that I need the 'new born' nappy range, and was going to go for the Pampers 6 - 13lbs set, but even then, there was 3 different sorts all containing different amounts of nappies

Will somebody who has taken this deal PLEASE post or email me to explain what deal i need that will save me the most amount

I believe the nappies were available if either

    36's
    54's
    72's

Although for the weight I required, it appeared that they only had the 36's in stock?

    ANY help is greatly appreciated

    Best Regards

    Pete

PEte, dont stock up on newborn nappies. Your baby might be a 10lber! I have only a couple of newborn packs for my baby due in oct and planning on stocking up on the next size up more than anything as my last one was 10lbs 2oz. The nappies might say they go up to 13lbs but if your baby is wide then they wont fit so well. I Would say get 3 packs of newborn (3 for 2) and no more. Then get as many as you can afford the next size up. IT depends what brand you buy as to the size I think. With pampers the next size is size 2's and im not sure about boots.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice, I did actually think that!

The deals are so different, so which is best?

Pampers is 'buy 1 get 1 free'

    Huggies is '3 for 2'?

Why o why o why, cant they just be all the bloody same!!!

which is best deal to go for and how does it work?

10% voucher is in the small holiday booklet contained in the main boots brochure which is free to advantage card holders or £1.00 otherwise. It is in shrinkwrap and normally displayed by the tills. I must have used about 6.
Everytime I go in I just rip out the voucher and give it in at the till.
    They expire 31.07.05 I think.
Just wondering if I have the energy to return tomorrow for some more Little Me sets.
    Hope this helps

    Hi Pete,
I found Huggies to be far better than Pampers - lots of leaks with Pampers plus I've been told that you can't use advantage points to pay for pampers in Boots for some strange reason (this might be wrong though) and just through observation, Huggies always seem to have an offer on in either Boots, Tescos or Morrisons but Pampers go on and off offer.

I would DEFINATELY stock up on baby wipes as you will use these from a month or two onwards through to when your little one is potty trained. We use around 2 packs of 80 wipes every week or so.... So buying them for 50p each under current offer is far better than paying 1.99 each lol.

As for nappy size, I would buy a pack of newborn size 1 huggies until you know whether newborn size 1 or 2 is more appropriate for your baby when its born but we then skipped straight to Huggies size 2 flexi as newborn are specifically designed for not much wriggling. So, for the future, I would stock up on Flexi size 2 and 3...and 4... My daughter has been in size 3 from around 3 months -6 months and is now moving up to size 4. Remember though, if you buy a size and never open it, within reasonable limits (a couple of months) you can actually take it back to any Boots/supermarket that stocks them and swop it for another size without a receipt - I just say "oh my boyfriend came down and picked up the wrong size...etc..."

Hope that helps - remember to start stocking up on sleep now! You won't get much in a little while lol!

I actually prefer Pampers to Huggies, but I'm sure everyone here will have their own opinion as well. Remember Pampers tend to send out loads of money-off coupons, but Huggies don't. Also, I'm quite sure that you can pay for Pampers with Boots points -- why not?

I noticed that Boots are doing 2 big packs of Pampers for £13.50 again - that's a really good deal! I don't think newborn ones come in huge packs, but you could stock up on bigger ones.

Also remember, whatever nappies deal you go for, make sure you get £25 worth of baby stuff for 500 extra points, and bear in mind that the £25 is calculated before all your deals, so you don't necessarily have to spend £25 (e.g. 3 nappy packs at £10 each, 3 for 2, pay £20 but you'll still get the points!)

HTH (Boots is a bit confusing for beginners, but definitely worth it :D )
