Transfer of title deeds-Scotland

Hi. My husband and I have separated and we want to remove his name from the title deeds to the house. In order to do this we have been told that we have to have a separation agreement first and then a conveyancing solicitor will do the change to the deeds. I've been quoted at least £750 just to do the deeds.
My question is two fold- does anyone know what a separation agreement would cost?
Or if we wait till we divorce- can we just change the deeds then? Without a separate agreement. I realise this is risky as things can change in peoples lives.
Neither of us have a lot of spare cash and we are shocked how expensive this whole process seems, especially as we are doing it amicably and have no mortgage.
Thoughts?

You'll need a separation agreement in scotland (not to be confused with a legal separation which is something different).
You and your husband can decide most of it between you then ask a solicitor to draft it which will help keeps costs down - sorry no way to determine how much it would cost as it will vary depending on area and how much work is involved but if you contact a few local firms, you could ask them to give you a quote or an estimate. Both of you should get independent advice before signing it because its legally binding.
It can set out how the assets will be split but can also detail other things such as who's going to be responsible for paying what or even child arrangements. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
