Too high gas consumption
We’ve moved in new home few weeks ago. Right after we had a gas meter replaced because there was some problem with pressure. When I checked the meter 6 weeks after there was about 600m3 used. It’s a 3 bedroom house, 2 adults, 3 children. The temperature sensor is set on 17 degrees. 3 people take a shower, 2 kids take a bath together, we have a gas cooker and use it for cooking. There was gas certificate done on January. I’ve asked Scottish Power to replace a meter and after it’s 3 m3/2 days, but we’ve switched off the heating completely. Isn’t that a bit too high? Maybe there’s some boiler problem? I’d really appreciate any advice.

Not really high - 400 m3 a month in a very cold winter about £110.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

My six week equivalent on gas I used 242 m3 2Feb through 14th March. (2,687kWh)
3 bed house two adults. Timed thermostat. heating set at 19C when occupied, 12 when not and 14 overnight!
Water heated for 40 minutes twice a day.0 -
A Metric meter read of 600 means a consumption of 6,700 Kwh - As Ofgem's average ANNUAL figure for a family home such as the OP has described is 12,000 Kwh, something isn't right to use 6700 in a few weeks.
When a meter is changed, the change crew leave a label on the new meter showing the date of change and the meters reading - NOT ALL 'NEW' Meters are in fact brand NEW and read Zero.
The OP needs to check the label on the new meter0
