Undercharge for car insurance

My car insurance company have written to me to say that they undercharged us last year and will increase next years to make up the loss - can they do this?

They're being reasonable and admitting an error and giving you fair warning that they'll be correcting that error.

You are under no obligation to accept their renewal offer next year, and they won't come after you for the difference if you leave, because you don't actually owe them anything.
