Co-Op Petrol station charged me twice

I just noticed about two weeks after visiting a local co-op petrol station that I was charged twice. I no longer have the receipt for the items but I saw on my bank statement yesterday that the same amount was taken twice at the same time for the same items. Is there any way I can get my money back?

I paid using my contactless and I recall that the guy at the counter said it didn't work the first time so I had to do it again!

Yes your bank statements will be proof.

Just make sure you didn't go in on a Friday night or over the weekend and then again at start of following week. Sometimes the switch from the weekend will be held back to early following week

Just go back with your bank statement and explain to someone who is in charge

Thanks. I was definitely charged twice, as the same payment shows on my statement in succession. I often stop at the same place on the way home and anything I buy shows up about two days later on my statement, so I know the two duplicate amounts are from the same visit. I just found a freephone number for Co-Op, which I will be calling in the morning.

Youre the second person this week telling me theyve been charged 2x by a co op contactless machine...

I definitely need to check my bank statements for my last few lunch trips!
