Doh. 2015/16 would get nothing as you say, 2016/17 could if the maximum nSP had not already been reached.

O.k....I have just checked the Gov. website again, and it says in bold letters "YOU NEED TO CONTRIBUTE N.I. TO REACH YOUR FORECAST"....why does it say this if they know that I have over forty years of contributions ?....is there something that I am missing ?......am I doing right by ignoring this ?.......

What does the forecast actually say?

If you just need the contributions from the final year, 2017-18, then that will be OK.

You said that your SP award was around £147 or so? To get above that requires the 2017/18 contributions for which the autocredits may not be available yet.

The letter dated 20 March says I will get £147.81 per week....but does say that this may change "due to changes in circumstances or uprating"......the Gov. website says my forecast is £152.51 per week...as someone has pointed out this may be due to the 3% rise....but then says that I need to contribute to reach that forecast....the letter also states that "we need to make further inquiries into your NI record"....and "we may need to write to you to tell you if the amount has changed".......

Its not the 40 yrs, you will get a credit for 2017/18 but they would like to con you into paying £741 for 2017/18 to see if they can get away with it!

Yes, it certainly looks that way....I guess it's just a waiting game now, to see when, or if, I get that credit for 2017/18.....

So when the 2017/18 contributions data is available this should increase your award that currently sits at £147.81.

Unless they have done something very stupid the £147.81 figure will include the uprating from April. Using 2017/18 rates for an award that starts in 2018/19 makes absolutely no sense and the IT wouldnt have allowed them to in the past. It is, of course, possible that they may have enhanced it to give out incorrect information!

Just checked the Gov. website, and the auto credits for 2017/2018 have now been applied, so pension is £152.50......that'll do.....Jack.

The full state pension, for 35 years of contributions is around £164 per week from April 2018. I have 36 years and my forecast tells me I will get the full amount. I have never been contracted out, so I guess that may be why other people are getting a different amount.

I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.
