It is a scientific fact that your body will not absorb calories if you take it from another person's plate.

Taking place for the first time in June 2018, the Top of the Gorge Festival is a weekend-long carnival of outdoor adventure and entertainment happening just outside Cheddar, Somerset, above Britains biggest gorge, with activities sprawling out across the crags, caves, trails and lakes of the magical Mendip Hills.

The festival features many family friendly pursuits including walking, climbing, caving, kayaking, camp cooking, wild-food foraging, star gazing, SUP, archery and axe throwing plus mass-participation events such as trail-running races (ranging from 3km, 6km and 10km distances, right through to a half and full off-road marathon) and the Mendip Murmuration, a challenging 20 or 30-mile mountain-bike sportive.

Welcoming weekend campers and day visitors alike, the pop-up festival site boasts incredible views through the jaws of the famous gorge the UKs highest inland cliffs right out to the Somerset coast. Amid all the action, guest speakers including Anna McNuff and Dave Cornthwaite will entertain and inspire audiences in the adventure tents, and there will be live music on the main stage in the evening, with Britains very own grand canyon as a backdrop.

Once theyve worked up an appetite, festival goers can explore tastes of the region by gorging on local delicacies such as cave-aged Cheddar cheese and juicy Somerset strawberries, washing them down with smoothies and fruit juice from neighbouring farms, or for the adults craft ales, ciders, wines and boutique spirits made in the Mendips.

Outdoor Fitness and the National Trust are offering one lucky reader a family weekend pass for the inaugural Top of the Gorge Festival (covering camping, parking, all talks and entertainment, and many on-site activities for two adults and up to three kids aged 5 -17). To get your name in the frame for this amazing prize, you can enter below.

For more details on the festival, see the feature on page 108 of Mays Outdoor Fitness Magazine, and to book tickets, visit the event website.
The bitter taste of poor quality lingers long after the sweet taste of cheap price has faded away. :wall:
