Reasonable amount to pay for landline & broadband?

Maybe, but Sky won't give me ADSL broadband either.
Feel sure I read on ISPreview that Sky was not touching anyone without Fibre options...
Probably to ensure they can give reasonable streaming speeds for TV type services... which I know should be usable on even 10 Mbps ADSL
But I suppose Sky may also want to be pushing their average speeds up so that they can say "XX Mbps" and not have the Advertising Standards tell them to remove the claim...0 -

They (and others) won't supply ADSL (or presumable fibre) to anyone below a certain threshold (a couple of meg or so from memory).
It saves all the hassle further down the line (so to speak).0 -
Just got the new BT contract; superfast broadband & calls, unlimited anytime add-on and caller display. An 18 month contract for £36.49 per month. A bit more than some of the deals mentioned here but the service has been reliable and i'll be getting 8x more speed with the faster broadband. However, I get talked into things too easily and should probably have waited for my contract to expire in 3 months.0

I just signed up to Plusnet for £25.00 a month for 18 months, upto 38Mb broadband and unlimited evening and weekend calls (I have no house phone).
I left virgin as they wanted £40 for upto 70Mb Broadband and weekend calls, they only offered £30 for broadband alone, I want it cheaper.
Signed up Vodafone (they come up cheapest on the comparison on this site) £25 a month upto 76Mb broadband, evening and weekend calls. Been waiting for enginner since first date 6th June, constant delays and final push was having day off work Wednesday, no enginner turned up, has led me to cancel order.0 -
My folks pay £16.99 a month for Sky ASDL2 Broadband, Line Rental and unlimited anytime phone calls - that's a good starting point as to what constitutes a good deal - others pay as lows as £11.99 for the same service, but Sky cottoned on to that, so happy with what we are paying currently.0

Currently on Plusnet £20 a month for line rental and 38Mb Fibre which IIRC was for 18 months. They matched a deal that Vodafone were doing at the time.
Any non Plusnet calls I make are on top but I use the mobile for that, since its only 3p a minute there and Plusnet want about 12ppm + about 20p just to set the call up.0
