Message Board Virgin Looking for Information

in Credit cards
Hi. First time I've used this message board so be gentle with me but wondering if anyone can help as I'm a bit stuck. I'm looking for a credit card with 0% balance transfer to shift a few hundred quids worth of debt onto. "Not a difficult one", I hear you cry, but heres the problem. I am registered disabled and have been so since the ripe old age of 12. As a consequence, my applications for these cards have been refused; not because of a bad credit rating as that is fine, but because I do not have an employment history and/or a low income of disability benefit, so my scoring falls too short to be considered. I have offers of more credit, loans from my bank and other financial services (all the things to get me in trouble with huge interest rates) coming out of my ears but that's not what I want. Just looking for an easier what to clear a little debt without crazy interest taking it all. Any information on options I haven't come across would be very gratefully received.

I'm new too & this is my first post, so I'm sure there are others who can offer more help if needed, but I'll have a go to get you on your way.
I too came looking for a balance transfer, applied for the 'best deal' & after several days waiting was turned down. This is usually where I give up, but exploring the site I found http://www.moneysupermarket.com/Cards/credit_card.asp
Here I filled in my details & was given a list of cards suiting my needs that I would most likely be accepted for.
I have since applied for, & been accepted for.....4 new cards, 2 to balance transfer (the first didn't give me quite enough credit to transfer in full) and not use, one with 0% for 12 months, just in case and one to use in hotels etc abroad as there is no overseas fee. I'm going to behave now though..promise.
Hope this is at least of some help.

From one newbie to another, thanks for that advice. Didn't know about moneysupermarket.com or any other site giving lists of potential cards for specific personal situations so I'm heading off there right now, see how far I get. Careful with your 4 new ones - they can be little !!!!!!s. Ta again for the advice, I can feel an evening of money-talk coming on.0
