Well done! Please will you put this in the PoPLA results thread with a link to this thread.

Please also complain to your MP and Sir Greg Knight MP.

These are some of the comments made by the MPs in Parliament concerning the unregulated parking industry (Feb 2018):

    https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2018-02-02/debates/CC84AF5E-AC6E-4E14-81B1-066E6A892807/Parking(CodeOfPractice)Bill

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.

These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam.

P3dr0, you need to read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then make the initial appeal(s) using the template you will find there. If you need further help, please start your own thread, not hijack someone else's.

Feel free to use any of my documents if they're useful to you.

Here's my POPLA appeal as a word document:

  • Hello everyone. I need some help. I'm in the exact same situation as and1x

I got my notice quite late. Date of contravention was 18 June 2018. I have received a letter on 6 August 2018. I have appealed to MET on grounds they have issued notice too late ( I read its 14 days according to POFA2012 )and won't be giving them driver details.
They rejected my appeal and now I have the option to pay £50 or appeal to POPLA but then will have to pay £100 if they reject my appeal.

    Here is what they wrote:

Thank you for your correspondence received in regards to the above parking charge notice. After careful consideration we have decided to reject your appeal for the following reasons:
The terms and conditions of parking are clearly stated on the signs prominently displayed at this location and these include that parking is for McDonald's customers only and that they must validate their stay with proof of purchase in the restaurant prior to exiting the car park and use their validated ticket to raise the barrier. When the driver of your
vehicle left the car park they acknowledged that they had not validated their stay and confirmed they were parked without authorisation by pressing the button to raise the barrier. We therefore believe the charge notice was issued correctly and are upholding it.

How do I go about it? Any advice?

You need to read forum help (above, next to 'etiquette' in a tab on the left). You need to see how to start your own new thread and read the sticky threads first.

PLEASE delete your question, you cannot hijack other people's threads about their case, it is unfair to this OP.

Please edit and delete it above, now please, and read the FORUM HELP and video and on how to use this forum. And please read the NEWBIES thread which tells you all about appeals, and the 3rd post of the sticky thread gives templates for POPLA appeal (or just search MET POPLA and fund hundreds to crib from!).

I will then delete this reply as this is taking and1x's thread ''off topic'', because no two PCNs are the same in details and dates. Dates are vital and we can't advise two people on one thread.

Start your new thread after reading the NEWBIES thread first.

And tell us in your new thread (not here) if there was a windscreen PCN first, because then the PPC only has to serve a NTK between day 29 and day 56 (14 days does not apply if it was a windscreen PCN case - no reply here please).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
