Their recent adverts in thelondonpaper say
"Unlike some deals, there are no caps or catches attached to our new Cashback card. So you really do earn Cashback on every single purchase, no matter how big or small."

so there isn't a limit of £4000, like how AMEX Platinum has for its 5% cashback? Cashback value of £200...
    then increments...
"0.5% for aggregate amounts up to £3,500; and 1% for aggregate amounts from £3,501 to £10,000; and 1.5% for aggregate amounts in excess of £10,001."

I buy Tesco gift cards together with my shopping at normal checkout - they are no different from other items.

The other thing is that although I was told that the three months starts from the time of approval, I have actually received 4% for all transactions on my third statement:j
Now he tells me!!!! I went by what the Credit Agreement said - namely '90 days from account opening date'. I then checked up with Customer Services (India) what was my 'Account Opening Date' and they said '6th July' - so I stopped 4 days earlier than I intended - by had already used the card 6 days beyond 6 October. So that is something. In fact my statement isn't until 4th so I could start spending again for three more days! I'll certainly be putting November's council tax on this card tomorrow in that case - nothing to lose by that.....

Just to confirm the post by johnk above that cashback is paid at 4% for a complete statement period which the '90th' day falls in - yes, I also got cashback at the same rate on all purchases shown on my '4th' statement and I started making some purchases only in the last few days - well after the 90 days - but I got the same rate. (So keep using the card for the whole of each month, everybody)

Thats wierd - I definitely only got 4% for the first 3 months - my third statment received some items at 4% and the rest at 1%
    I think....

    Hi michaels,

I'm pretty sure at some point they changed their policy.
In your posistion I would work out how much it is and then decide whether to write them a letter and ask nicely if you can be treated as per the new policy.
My advice is that being charming usually gets better results (at least to start with). The employees are just human beings and will be more willing to help if you give them some incentive i.e. I have been very happy as a Capital One customer but was recently dissapointed to find.....
This gives them some incentive i.e. not hacking off an otherwise delighted customer.
Up to you to decide whether it's worth the effort and a stamp.

    Good Luck
