Paypal - auto debit card update?

I'm not sure where to post this, but I'll try in here.

My debit card recently expired and I remember updating my lottery account with the new card but nothing else that I can remember.

I recently purchased something and checked out using my Paypal account, and to my surprise, the account has already been updated with my new card details? Have I missed something or is it just old age?

For the life of me, I cannot remember logging into Paypal specifically to change details or have made purchases to change details then.

Any ideas?

Your bank may have updated the details. I'm with Barclays and, when the sort codes changed back in January, they wrote to everyone on my list of payees to update the details they held.
Or....you have updated the details and forgotten.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.
