Two kids at uni

And it isn’t cheap. We pay the difference up to the max maintenance loan, and more on top for bits and pieces.

One of them is finding it ‘difficult’ getting a p/t job - any advice out there ? And they fancy doing a masters afterwards !!!128561;

The other has a job but has far less contact with lecturers.

    Not sure what advice you want, but a part time job shouldn't be difficult. If contact hours are the issue, then a summer job and saving over the holidays could be an idea.

    Universities usually have internal jobs - bar, student ambassador etc. which usually are around lecture hours.
  • Internal jobs are a good shout! As are things like unitemps schemes - which could mean helping at open days, or one off events. These are less commitment but tend to pay really well! There's lots of schemes out there to be ambassadors for e.g. departments or brands which are also good to do sometimes, e.g. getting paid to write blog posts about their time at university.
  • it's true on the blog you can also earn, but you have to have an idea
