  • Good morning,

nmlc thanks for starting us off.

Holly, hope you have as good a day today as you did yesterday. :) The simple pleasures are always the best - being free to go out or staying in as the mood takes you :) and I loved reading your post today.

CRANKY40, I agree that nobody’s posts are boring - friendly, informative, helpful YES but boring NO.

newroadahead, I hope you have a lovely relaxing holiday. Something to look forward to and you deserve it.

It is dull & dreary here but no rain at the moment. I think today is a soup day :) - probably potato & Stilton with a bit of chilli & the last of the scone dough from the freezer.................just popped off to put dough in fridge :o

Hopes for the day - vacuuming, wash kitchen tiles, windows & frames & if the Mojo reappears a bit of V*xing :rotfl: & steam clean the kitchen floor

Have a great day everyone whatever you are doing.

    Morning all,

still not brave enough to wash my verticals.....

Holly Glad all went well yesterday.

Csarina hope OH is well today.

A quiet day in for me i think. Grump has a long drive ahead of him tonight. He's got an important work meeting tomorrow at 7am and it takes him 3 hours to get there so rather than get up at 4am he is going tonight.

'Blackun' is doing well on her medication and is almost back to her normal springy self.

Youngest has ditched his girlfriend. She told him the hospital thought she had got cancer....turns out she hasnt been near a hospital since she was a baby.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Pleased you had a good day yesterday Holly, positivity is the way to go, you have all of us behind you girl!! Never apologise for the length of your posts, you can write a book on here and we will read it!!

Now to OH, as I predicted he is being a royal pain in the a**e, worrying about any little thing. I keep telling him I am not the fount of all knowledge....read the leaflet they gave you at the hospital!!

We have only just got up, I was in bed just after 9pm last night, did OH's eye at 10pm and settled down, roused a couple of times but eventually woke at 8.30, so we have had breakkie in bed and read for a while, as you can imagine I am shattered.

TA hope all goes well tomorrow, will be thinking about you.

Its a grey morning. OH says it has started to rain, I was hoping the gardener would come and cut the grass yesterday, no such luck......its going to have to be strimmed first with the strimmer before we can put the mower on it. The back herbaceous border needs forking over and weeding, you will not believe despite the rain it is cracking at the top.

I did manage yesterday to sort out the plants in the nursery bed, some of them need planting sooner rather than later.......I am going to have to screw up the courage and get out there, will suffer the aches and pains afterwards. The spuds also need putting in. OH is not going to be able to do it.

Roast chicken for supper tonight. I have a couple of creme brulee in the freezer will defrost them for dessert.

    Morning all

Dull and wet here today so wont be going too far, we have a mountain of washing to dry and then put away so that will be done on and off all day.

DD's turn to cook today there is a spatch-cocked chicken in the fridge with garlic and herbs which we can have with some kind of potato and salad or veg.

Will have a quick tidy round this morning then have a relaxing afternoon will see what the weather is like for dog walking, if its raining too much then OH can go on his own :D.

    Have good days all xx

Just a quick one from me as I'm multitasking :rotfl:
The veg is prepped ready for Sunday lunch with Dad. Silly nan forgot to take out any meat so we are having a steak pie, with roasties, roast parsnips, carrots and greens. I'm also washing the bedding from yesterday, still don't know if it will dry as the sky is completely white, but there is a bit of a breeze so I'm living in hope :D. I have ironed a few T. shirts this morning too, just "house" ones.
Right I'm off to put the oven on ready for the potatoes etc and hang out the duvet cover, as there is one load left to do, but I'm waiting for Mr Fix It's clothes to fill up the wash. I've sent him for a shower too, so everything has had a wash, including him :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good Sunday, I hope to pop back later for a good catch up.
    Take care all. Hugs.

I don’t know why I feel the need to wash everything that I had at the hospital even though a lot of it is clean because there was a washing machine there that I was using. I think it is in part a way of putting the whole distressing experience behind me.
It sounds perfectly reasonable to me; I'd be the same, I think. When I had to go for an ECG some time back (one of the worst experiences ever, as I have issues about being touched by other people apart from Mr LW) after I got home, I threw all the clothes I was wearing in the wash, and myself in the bath. It simply had to be done. ;)

Keep enjoying life's simple pleasures; we're heading into Spring now (could someone please inform the weather of this?) so the trees will be putting out leaves and buds, and the Spring flowers are blooming. :T

That's good to know; I was concerned for her.

Made it home, slowly! I can tell it's Spring as the newly blossoming caravans and motor homes make their presence felt. And the motor bikers too, plenty of them out today as there's no rain or high wind.

Yesterday on my never ending trip round several supermarkets we went into D obbies. They don't stock terracotta long planters, or much of terracotta anything. I'll need to look elsewhere. Even their plants looked not quite perky enough. I need a proper nursery as opposed to a garden centre.

I've come home with a set of herb plants and a lovely geranium from W aitrose instead. They all look healthy and unmistakably perky.

The washing machine is whirring away, the bird feeders have been filled, the squirrel box replenished and shopping put in the fridge. Now I need to put a cup of tea in me!

Have had a busy morning as got up to cook breakfast for youngest dd and then went to the shops to get ingredients for chilli mince tortilla bowls. The shop did not have any mince so I improvised with chicken. peppers, salca, chilli beans etc.

Two dds and sil have driven over to york to see eldest in hospital and then will drive back to me to pick up their things. Dishes are all in the dishwasher, salad is in a lidded container and two big portions of chilli chicken are in freezer containers in the fridge as dd and sil might want some to take home. I will add some pasta shells to the chicken soup later to bulk it out and then freeze some of it.

    csarina and TA

Fingers crossed for your husbands and hope the treatments/ ops go well.

My dds laugh at me because I say my mantra is "Boring is good!" By that I mean comfortable and safe and reassuring. I have never found any of the posts boring.

    Holly

I am so glad you are feeling more at home and settling back to your own little nest.

Grump has left the building, motor loaded up with bits and pieces he'll need for the coming weeks.

Hounds have been for a short walk. No coughing. :T

    Have a good evening all.

    Good morning all,

Nobody's posts are boring by the way. Isn't that the point of old style? We're feeding our families mostly without using processed food, we're doing our best to keep our homes clean and tidy and we're being friendly, neighbourly and helping each other when we can. I like a quiet life. I had enough trauma the year the late MrC died to last me for the rest of my life.

Take care all of you :)

Nobody's posts are boring, I enjoy 'hearing' about LameWolf's canine friends, LaineyT and Lulu, love to read all your news.

I have laughed and cried with you. Have been feeling a bit down and alone recently, and the fencers were there to help me up.
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.
