Have you been refused house insurance?

I've just been through process of reviewing my household insurance (I have combined building and contents).
I did gain some quotes by phone. One question which some companies asked was whether in the past any insurer had refused to insure. I was able to answer "no". However one company refused point blank to insure the building (but would have quoted for contents). That was before they had asked any questions about the type of construction or age and seemed to be purely on the basis of the postcode (possibly because it is "London" according to the person on the phone).
Does that mean that I am now disadvantaged in the future and have to say that an insurer has refused to insure or, because they didn't take any real details and the operator did suggest it was a blanket policy ban on insuring any house in London and certainly not personal to me, that I can answer "no"?

"Declined to quote" is different from "refused insurance" the latter is for example a refusal to payout on a claim, because for example the correct details weren't given for the policy in the first place.
Every time I do a comparison site search there is always a list of companies that "are unable to provide a quote". That could just be that their computer quotation systems are down for maintenance at the exact moment I ask for a quote, and nothing at all to do with my details.
So I wouldn't worry about it.Indecision is the key to flexibility0
