Please excuse the dumb question, but why can I not find Utilita on the drop down menu for "Energy Supplier" on the Cheap Energy Club?

Here's a response made earlier (18-01-2018, 9:34 AM )Hi Juno-eclipse
I'm afraid that due Utilita's unusual tariff structure, we're not currently able to calculate the costs of its tariffs on Cheap Energy Club.
Utilita has a tiered unit rate structure where you pay different unit rates according to how much energy you consume. This is extremely uncommon and unfortunately the pricing calculations which MoneySuperMarket provide to us to power Cheap Energy Club can't currently support this.
Its development team have this on its to-do list, so hopefully we'll be able to relist Utilita in the coming months.
For now, you may wish to use one of Ofgem's accredited comparison sites.

They were "given" the failed Eversmart consumers by Ofgen.
Utilita have a strange way to apply a daily standing charge. The effective charge is approx 150% more than the cheapest supplier. They also charge approx 20% more for electricity used and 30% more for gas. Dispite these extravagant charges they ignore emails and letters.
How did Ofgen chose Utilita??
I hope MSE picks this up and warns other users of the Cheap Energy Club and puts this out in the Newsletter.
Can anyone tell me how I can put this to MSE staff?0 -

Surprisingly, that's how most energy suppliers used to charg. A certain number of units at a higher price to cover the standing charge and then the rest at a lower rate.
However, as that was too complex for some people to understand they introduced the standing charge as a separate cost item which actually stuffed those who were very low users.
There's always an unintended consequence when someone interferes, especially governments or regulatorsNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
