PPI scam? Claimhunters

Good morning,
I'm looking for a little bit of advice please. I helped make a couple of enquiries/claims into missold PPI on behalf of a relative on 26th March 2018 and in this case filled out the PPI complaints webform on the Littlewoods website, not wanting to involve any kind of middleman/claim company.
My relative has forwarded me an email today dated 8th March 2018 (dated prior to my enquires) from Claimhunters saying the lenders I've selected as Great Universal and Empire catalogues (our 2 claims did happen to be for part of this/Littlewoods company) and they've sent our 'Authority to act' forms to these lenders with copies attached to the email. Now there's 2 pdfs attached, a cancellation form and a 'edocument' form. The edocument form does in fact have my relative's name, address and date of birth on with an e signature (not their signature) and dated 8th March 2018. It doesn't have any reference numbers or anything else. I'm assured they've filled in no forms or made any enquiries prior to us sitting down together on 26th March.
Ordinarily I'd just dismiss this kind of thing as a scam and spam email, and delete it and forget about it, especially as the dates don't tally with our genuine enquiries. But as it's a relative an just so coincidental I want to make sure we're doing the right thing and they're not going to end up liable for anything with this company. What would you do? Would you make contact with the company and check what's going on? There is a password supplied in the email too to track your claim online but I haven't dared log in!
Any help most appreciated, thank you.

So ask your relative whether or not she employed them? If she did, let them deal with it.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Just email them back and confirm you are not employing them, do not wish to have a contract with them and do not wish to have any more communications from them
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Did you by any chance use the real site or use a spoof site? (check the internet browser history for the website link).
There are some CMCS that masquerade as the real site and con people into thinking they are complaining directly.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

I’m sure it was the genuine site although will check their internet history. I’m sure I searched via https://www.fca.org.uk/ppi/contact-empire-stores and clicked through to Littlewoods. Also, that still wouldn’t explain the email being sent prior to my enquiry.0
