Claiming back travel expenses when employed

Hi all,
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but I couldn't find a perfectly relevant sub.
Basically I've been self employed for a while, claiming back the usual tax on expenses. However the last year I spent in permanent employment, paying my own travel (train fares) to, from and between work.
I work in construction therefore have no fixed workplace, always moving from site to site. I've been advised I can claim tax back on these travel expenses due to this fact. Is this correct, as an accountant has advised me I can although I am aware they hold no legal responsibility for false claims and could just be looking to make some money.
Thanks in advance!

I may be wrong but I would expect an employee to reclaim any allowable travel expenses from their employer. As you have no base location I'm not sure how travel expenses would be calculated if using your own transport, as there is generally no allowance for getting to and from your normal place of work.0

According to the gov. website you may be able to claim back travel expenses but not from home to work.
