Small claims court case for the Nexus 5X

Hi all,
Relatively new here so please inform me if I've done anything wrong. Thanks.
The Nexus 5X has had a manufacturer's defect with it for quite some time now. Poor soldering on one of the chips leads it to bootloop. My Nexus 5X encountered this issue once, sent it off to LG for a repair under warranty and everything is fine, however, there are many reports of users saying that it has happened a second and third time, therefore the issue wasn't fixed they just put in a replacement board, job done.
I've passed my 24 month warranty period like many others have at this point but I'm wondering if there are still grounds to go to a small claims court on this? Consumer laws state that I have up to 6 years to file a claim. I'd rather not let my phone die before I can go to small claims, so can I base it on it causing an inconvenience to me? I'm wanting to go up against carphone warehouse on this and I am wondering if anyone has any opinions or advice they'd like to offer.
Thanks

Do I understand you right?
You want to make a pre-emptive claim for a fault that may or may not re-occur?
Good luck with that.0 -
How is it inconvenient ?
You have a working phone0 -
Do feel free to take Carphone Warehouse to court, and keep us fully updated on progress, it'll give us all a much needed laugh.0

Can you say how you have been inconvenienced ?
You had the issue fixed so it's all good.
Go ahead with the claim but I don't like your chances0 -
