New: Relaunch of online claims system

Ok, so here's the press release: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/quicker-way-to-resolve-claim-disputes-launched-online

MCOL still exists at the moment, but probably will be phased out for the new system, given that MCOL is frankly rubbish in terms of web content/functionality.

No doubt we shall find out soon enough...

It will encourage even more spurious claims because it makes things easier for the thug firms and speculative litigators, surely?

Parking firm robo-claimants should be banned from using it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The new service is not geared up for robo-claims.

Those who file claims in bulk - Gladstones, BW Legal etc. - have a bulk filing facility which is only available to organisations who issue above a certain number of claims annually. They get their own unique two-letter code (the third and fourth characters in the claim number, eg GF for Gladstones), and a direct interface to the CCBC.

The new system requires each claim to be entered individually, and asks a series of Janet and John style questions - such as "Are you resident in the UK? The UK consists of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland".

It's designed for householders who want to make a one-off claim against their plumber for shoddy work.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.
