When I goto private messages, in the miscellaneous box in bottom left......there is a link for 'attachments'. When I click on this, it tells me that I haven't posted any attachments. Does this mean I can upload a file to add as an attachment to a pm?
I'm currently distributing a small accounts spreadsheet for use by the Ebayers on this site, and am having to get them to pm me with an email address. If the above was an option, it would save me a lot of faffing about.

This options is disabled because it means we'd all be using up MSE's space and bandwidth.
I'd love it to be on because it would mean MSE could host all the tonnes of pictures I've posted for the A-Z rather than me having my fingers crossed that the free hosts I use are reliable
but I see why it's turned off
It was switched on on the vbulletin test site before this one went live.
I think I have the distinction of being the only person to ever post an attachment - before it was promptly switched off

That would explain it. I've tried hosting it on my own site, but they won't allow files over 256Kb. Will have to do a wee search for a nice place to put it.
