Company fobbing me to other company

hello

I put a claim in for PPI via the Resolver, great service by the way.
Anyway it is for Welcome Finance - however they have sent numerous responses but each one is a duplicate of the previous letters saying we will deal with your complaint within 8 weeks, (well they have 7 days left!)

However this week I received a letter saying that it is nothing to do with Welcome Finance now and that it is their broker Direct Auto Finance (Yes Car Credit), who no longer exist) and that they have sent a copy of my complaint to them, but still nothing and i have tried phoning Direct Auto Finance (as per Resolver suggestion), Direct Auto Finance say that it is with Welcome Finance, then Welcome Finance say it is with Direct Auto Finance. aaaahhhh

Where do I go from here, for finding out who is the person I need to deal with, and who do I direct this to after 7 days when I need to go to the ombudsman.??

any help would be good

Who sold you the PPI and when.

You need to complain to whoever sold you it and your 8 weeks is probably going to be reset

    its not fobbing you off.

Its a bit like buying something from ASDA but then trying to complain to Tesco about it.

You complain to the seller. Not the lender. Only if the lender was the seller would you complain to them.

Welcome are saying that you bought the loan via a car dealer. So, they are correct in telling you to complain to the car dealer.
when I need to go to the ombudsman.??

You may not have access to the ombudsman. As Yes Car Credit no longer exist, if you bought the loan before 14th January 2005, then the FOS cannot review your case as it is pre-regulation. FOS can only look at post regulation cases. There are past threads from others saying that the FOS would not consider a YCC complaint for that reason.

The FOS website shows only one upheld ombudsman decision (in May 2014) against DAF. But that was sold by DAFL and not YCC.
