Morrison & Parking Eye Camera fail

I recently got an invoice letter from Parking Eye asking for £60 going up to £100 if unpaid for supposedly spending 20 hours parked in a Morrison supermarket. The camera clocked me going in but not out !
I went in on a saturday lunchtime bought a lottery ticket and paper etc and went back out shortly after, i then went back in on sunday morning after having gotten fuel from morrisons petrol station first then going in again to the supermarket which cannot be accessed from petrol station, the camera has then clocked me going out !
Should i appeal on these grounds as im sure the petrol station would have cctv of me going in there for fuel before going back in to supermarket, the camera system has clearly failed not clocking me out on the saturday and again not clocked me going back in on the sunday morning !
I am in Scotland by the way
Thanks in advance for any advice

Everyone is politely asked not to start a new thread before reading up on this in the newbires faq thread near the top of the forum
Tickets for Scottish residents are covered there
Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving
You need to edit your post to remove details of who was driving0 -
Go into the Morrisons store, demand (politely) to see the manager and tell him how this absurd situation is ensuring that you will become an ex-customer (and your extended family) if he can't sort this out with an immediate cancellation. He will probably have computer access to the PE system to cancel.
Once again, PE's infamous 19 point check has failed to spot a double-dip situation - surely someone is asking the question there 'Why would anyone remain in a supermarket car park for 20 hours, we need to check this manually?'
It really does make you wonder if this purported check intervention is but a PE invention! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Do not contact PE because your planned approach would be telling them who was driving.
NEVER do that in Scotland!
Complain to Morrisons Head Office using the donotreply email everyone else does on here on any other Morrisons threads you care to read. It will be cancelled next week.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Do also complain to your MP as already advised, and to Sir Greg Knight MP.
When you complain to the Morrison's CEO, quote the comments used by MPs in open parliament about this unregulated scam, and ask why on earth a previously reputable company like Morrison's would use such nasty companies to scam genuine customers.
Remind them that other supermarkets are available.
These are some of the comments made by the MPs in Parliament concerning the unregulated parking industry (Feb 2018):

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.
These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP, Sir Greg Knight, and the supermarket CEO in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if they want further information about this scam.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
