Financial Ombudsman Taking too Long

I filed a complaint against a loan company way back in October 2017 - despite reminding them on several occasions, the Financial Ombudsman still haven't assigned anyone to look at my case - 6 months of waiting so far. This is ridiculous - do we now need an ombudsman to look into the ombudsman these days?

Judging by the number of people on here, the Credit File & Ratings board and the Motoring board trying to find ways out of loans and asking how to get compensation they feel they are due because they made stupid decisions I suspect they're quite busy. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. maybe not the most sympathetic post in a forum about 'loans'!0 -
What is their explanation?
What action has been taken so far?0 -
Last response at the end of Jan was:
"I’m afraid there’s no further update at the moment. As soon as the case is allocated to an investigator they’ll be in touch"0 -

Blame all the PPI / bank account vultures taking up all their time, encouraged by Martin at every occasionSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Well, I'm not going to get into slating and dismissing people I don't know for claiming (after all, this is half of what this site has built it's rep on - and we're all here actively on it!). But you'd think the Ombudsman could prioritise - I am not chasing PPI nor chancing my arm with some vague hope of a nice bonus.0

How do you suggest they prioritise? Everyone thinks their claim has merit, until it is investigated the FOS cannot say otherwise. Remember that others waiting may think that you are chancing your arm adbd and their complaint is more important.0 -
I don't suggest - working out their day-to-day issues is their job, and they clearly have major issues at present and need to do something.
Waiting half a year to even get someone to look at a case is poor however you look at it.
What I would suggest is that the situation probably gives unscrupulous organisations out there little fear that they will ever be brought to task.0 -

So why should they prioritise your complaint over others?0 -

Look, I posted here to see if others were experiencing the same issues, knew of any valid reasons etc etc - not have some sort of minor 'internet disagreement'. I have work to do.0
