Query on bank account switch day

Hi there,
My bank account is set to switch from my old bank to Nationwide today.
I opened my old bank account this morning and the funds are still in the bank account and haven't switched yet. Any previous switches I have done the switch usually happens overnight on the date of the switch.
I was just wondering is this normal?
