Reporting crime of money stolen at Polish ATM

Hello.

Went to Krakow in February...attempted to withdraw cash in airport, thought I'd Cancelled transaction TWICE.
Used live chat next day to confirm if money had gone.
Raised dispute when back in UK. Money was refunded until investigation was complete.

Money was debited today. As it was issued.

I was advised in Krakow Airport to make report of theft in UK. They can't.
Action Fraud cannot take a referal either.

Have emailed British Consulate (on advice from Police).

Any one have a clue what else I can do or contact?
TIA

I'm not sure if my understanding is correct.

You thought you had cancelled the transaction but it appears you didn't. The bank say the money was issued so they say the ATM dispensed it? So are you saying after you walked away from the ATM someone else in the airport walked up and took the money that was sitting in the ATM?

If I am wrong in my understanding, and it is a problem with the ATM not actually dispensing the money, then you need to take it up with the ATM operator. If I am correct, then the Polish police would be the people to contact (depending on their laws around 'found money' I suppose).

Or do you think that it was some kind of card skimmer trick? In which case, the Polish police would also be the people to talk to.

Not sure why you would be advised to report a theft in the UK when it happened in Poland, if it even is a theft?

Does your travel insurance cover theft of money, if that is the case?

I think you're pretty much done for.

Back to your bank. Complain. Escalate to FOS. Don't get your hopes up.

It's very unlikely that any crime has been committed. Sounds like a comms fault between the ATM and the owner, or between the owner and VISA/Mastercard (whichever your card is), or between VISA/Mastercard and your bank. Regardless of where the problem occurred, the only way this can be resolved is by doing what PeacefulWaters has advised.
