Monument / Barclaycard Payment Break Plan

Hi, New to posting on site so forgive me if covered before or posted incorrectly.

I requested a SAR from Barclaycard as I had an issue regarding a card I had with them. Anyway, they sent me today a stack of old statements, within this stack are statements that relate to an old Monument Credit card I had, I assume they either own them or took them over? Anyway, I noticed on all the statements that I was paying a Payment Break Plan fee each month, I have no idea what this is or why it's on, I have had a quick scan on web and it appears similar to PPI, question is, can I claim a refund as mis-soldicon? I didn't need/want or even realise I had, so would definitely say it was mis-sold. But is this treated same as PPI?
If so, does anyone know how I go about complaining to get a refund? (i.e any template letters)
Who do I send it to? monument ? Barclaycard ? Does Monument still exist?

Any help would be appreciated
Many Thanks :beer::beer:

    Complain to Barclaycard with your reasons for complaint and evidence.

    Saying you didn't know you had it is just admitting you didn't read statements. Saying you didn't want it so long after the event smacks of opportunism. If you didn't need it, provide evidence why to help your case as it's an easy rejection otherwise

    People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

    Thank you for your reply, is it Barclaycard who I should complain to? As the statements all have Monument. Is the PBP same as PPI?
    Is there a specific dept. I should send a letter to? Any idea if there's a template letter I can adapt?

    Monument was a Barclays product (they bought a company called Providian and rebranded their card as Monument) - some went to Raphael's Bank Plc but seems yours is with Barclaycard given the statements came from them so I'd start there, they have a form on their website

    Payment break is not exactly PPI but you can still complain about it, as you can complain about anything

    Do not use template letters, they harm your case as you'll inevitably find they include wrong details or things that don't apply to you, just write your details down and why you feel it was miss-sold to you and detail any evidence you have
