Can a mother take a child abroad to live without the fathers consent?

There's the legal situation and then there's the "life" situation.
If the mother is with a man who is stationed to say Germany -odds are the posting is two or three years and there is the view that it may be worth keeping the relationship cordial with the mother by not dragging her through court -and using Skype and low cost carriers to keep contact up-not ideal but sometime you avoid a battle to ensure the long term situation stays better. Australia I might feel differently but Europe is so close and cheap to get to nowdays especially if you can plan flights months ahead that a monthly flight at say £60 might be do-able -especially if it's only for a couple of years until the posting ends.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
